APC chieftain, Mustapha Inuwa defects to PDP in Katsina

Dr. Mustapha Inuwa, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) member in Katsina State, has defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, which is the major opposition.

After conferring with hundreds of his fans and organizations that sang songs of solidarity about his competence and potential to influence the politics of the State, Inuwa announced his choice on Sunday at his campaign headquarters in Katsina.

The APC party stalwart served as the Katsina State Government’s (SSG) former Secretary under outgoing Governor Aminu Bello Masari.

When he ran for governor of Katsina State on the APC platform, he was defeated by Dr. Dikko Umar Radda.

According to reports, Inuwa endorsed Radda immediately after the governorship primary elections.

When things abruptly broke down, followers of the two sides started leveling allegations.

In addition to the State PDP and NNPP leaderships, reports claim that Senators Kashim Shetima and Datti Baba Ahmed, the vice presidential candidates for the APC and Labour Party, respectively, visited Dr. Inuwa.

Inuwa said that after realizing that he and his followers were irrelevant within the APC, he ultimately made the decision to return to the PDP, his former party, which he had deserted just before the 2015 election in favor of the then-opposition APC.
