Ogunmakin Oluwaseun Adeyemi pka Enzaim has been Elected as the 37th President of the Student Union Government, Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.
The election which was conducted using Electronic Voting on the University designated portal started at 10:00am and ended 3:00pm today, 8th April, 2024.
In the recent election, there were some exciting results that left students buzzing with excitement. One of the biggest victories came from Hon. Popoola Abimbola Mistura pka Hon. AB, who triumphed over Olowoporoku Eniola pka Olaray with 1445 votes to 1248 votes to secure the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO).
Another notable outcome of the elections was Kolawole Emmanuel Ogunpolu pka Frontline’s victory over Adedapo Jeremiah pka Jerry with 1526 votes to 1103 votes for the position of Sports Director. Frontline’s dedication to improving sports facilities and promoting a more active campus life struck a chord with students, earning him their trust and votes.
Meanwhile, in a rather unique turn of events, Enzaim clinched the position of President without facing any opponents. Enzaim’s uncontested win speaks to the confidence that students have in his leadership abilities and vision for the university.
Overall, the OOU SUG elections saw some surprising victories and strong displays of student support. As the newly elected officials prepare to take on their roles, students eagerly anticipate the positive changes they will bring to the university community.
The election was largely acclaimed to be free and fair as we are yet to get a report of any malpractice or irregularities.
