Ayra Starr and her record company, Mavin Records, have been threatened with a lawsuit by Voltage, a nightclub in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, for disappointing them and breaching their contract.
Ayra Starr was scheduled to play at Options Loungeās first anniversary party.
The event, which was supposed to take place at club Voltage on January 5, 2022, was canceled when the rising star disappointed the management for the second time.
According to reports, the clubhouse made a N3 million deposit to Mavin Records as asked, but the record company allegedly defaulted a few hours before the event.
Reacting to this, Option Lounge and Voltage Night Club boss, Tonwerigha Oyintonbra Tombrown, said;
āThis is to inform the general public that the planned 1st anniversary of Option Lounge which was billed to hold on 5th January 2022, and the after-party which was to hold at club voltage where Ayra Starr, a Mavin Records artist was to perform has been shifted forward to another date that will be communicated soon.
āThis is due to the persistent disappointment and complete breach of contract for the second time from Ayra Starr and Mavin Records. We do not understand why Ayra Starr and Mavin Records after agreeing on a fee which we paid in full have consistently disregarded her fans here in Bayelsa. We have consulted our legal team and we are taking all legal mercenaries against her and Mavin Records.
āAs a business, we hold our esteem customers very high and we cannot disappoint them for the second time; hence the need for this publication. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that this may have caused you for the second time. Please accept our apologiesā.
However, Chike, a soulful Nigerian musician, recently showed interest in working with Ayra Starr, the crooner of āBloody Samaritan.ā In an interview with Pulse TV, the āRojuā singer stated that she is attractive.
āIām a huge fan of Ayra Starr. I get thrilled in a nice manner when she appears on my screen. āThe music and the way she sings areāso wonderful to look at,ā I think.ā
The musician also stated that he is under pressure to outperform the popularity of his debut album.
āIām under pressure because I feel like Iām speaking things in the second album that I havenāt said before.ā I may be perplexed, but I am not afraid. When there was nothing, we started doing it.ā
