This news gathered that scores of the students prevented vehicular movement along the benin-ore Expressway in protest against the prolonged strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The students, who converged on the busy road, said they could not afford to continue staying at home, while the Federal Government reneges in acceding to demands of the striking lecturers.

According to a tweet by Eons Intelligence, “the protesters converged around Ijagun Junction along Ijebu-Ore axis of the Sagamu-Expressway. No movement right now”, the source said.

“If coming from Lagos, use Epe-Ijebu-Ode Rd or Enter thru Ijebu-Ode town & navigate into Ijebu-Imushin to Ogbere axis to join the expressway. Avoid confrontation with the protester.

The students have vowed to continue the protest until their demands were met by the Federal Government.

Amid other chants of solidarity songs, the students, under the aegis of Education Coalition, said government had failed the education system.
