There is a huge weight of expectation on the Liverpool star, Mohammed Salah’s shoulders to spearhead his nation to a record-extending eighth AFCON triumph in Cameroon after his scintillating form at club level.
But Egypt face a difficult start in their quest to reclaim the title they won three times in a row between 2006-10, with three-time winners Nigeria no doubt also confident of making a deep run in the competition after a semi-final tilt three years ago.
